Powered by our SMILE Method (Storytelling, Motion, Imagination, Literacy, Exploration), these programs grow confidence, connection, and strategic thinking in early childhood.

Pop-Up Chess Club @ Lightbridge

Ages 5–10 Saturdays • 3:00–4:30 PM
Weekend • Family-friendly

A high-energy weekend club that blends guided lessons, open games, and mini-challenges that build board fluency and confidence. Parents are welcome to observe the last 10 minutes.

Revenue split: 60% Discovery Center / 40% Lightbridge

Everyday Chess for Moms × Preschoolers

Signature Family Experience

A gentle, joy-filled session where caregivers and preschoolers learn together through SMILE—story-based prompts, movement games, imaginative play, and early literacy aligned to chess concepts.

  • Take-home mini-challenges for “Play Confidence” at home

Lightbridge licenses Story Time Chess®—and we teach it, integrating Discovery Center’s unique early-childhood resources and our SMILE Method (Storytelling, Motion, Imagination, Literacy, Exploration). Each month features a hands-on Science Lab that connects chess themes to STEAM discovery.

  • Max 12 students / class • 2 classes per week
  • Story-based chess, movement games, creation stations
  • Monthly Science Lab tie-ins (mixtures, motion, patterns, simple machines)
Option A (School-Funded): $1,200 / month / site (up to 4 weekly sessions)
Option B (Parent-Funded): $100 / month per child
Parent-Funded split: 80% Discovery Center / 20% Lightbridge
Discovery provides curriculum, coaches, equipment, assessments, and family updates; Lightbridge provides classroom space and scheduling.
