What started as a single chess class in a small room grew into something much bigger — a movement of Wonder.
The Discovery Center at Stony Point™ was built from the idea that learning should feel alive, dynamic, and never static. What began with chess evolved into a thriving learning ecosystem connecting science, technology, engineering, art, and math — and the families who believe in them.
Here, curiosity is the curriculum. Every program, lab, and experience is designed to help learners think deeply, collaborate meaningfully, and discover how their unique way of seeing the world is a strength.
Meet the Founders
Founder & CEO — Rhonda Adorno
Rhonda Adorno blends over 15 years of experience in education, innovation, and community engagement. She has redefined how families experience learning by merging chess, technology, and creative design into a single learning ecosystem.
A graduate of Rollins College and Strayer University with a Master’s in Instructional Design & Technology, she bridges academic insight with real-world practice. Her mission: make discovery feel alive and confidence achievable for every learner.
Co‑Owner — Khjyetta Singleton (Kay‑yee‑tuh)
Khjyetta Singleton brings clarity and creativity to every partnership she leads. With a strong background in entrepreneurship and strategic development, she ensures the Discovery Center grows with purpose and sustainability.
Her leadership connects educators, families, and organizations to build learning experiences that inspire collaboration and confidence while staying true to the Center’s mission—making learning accessible, engaging, and transformative.
