Where does the League meet?

We meet on your school campus during the regular club season. Once a month, schools come together for a citywide competition day at the Discovery Center at Stony Point™ or a designated host site.

K–12 students through participating schools. We group by skill level rather than age, so beginners and advanced players each get the right challenge.

Do we need chess experience?

No prior experience needed. Our progression covers Chess Basics through Tactics, Strategy, and Tournament Prep.

How do competitions work?

Once each month, league schools gather for rated or unrated match play, puzzles, and mini‑workshops. Points contribute to seasonal standings and awards.

How It Works

1) Meet On Campus

Your regular club season happens right at school—no buses, no logistics. Sessions blend lesson, puzzles, and live play, grouped by skill level.

We supply boards, clocks, curriculum, and coach training as needed.

2) Progress With Purpose

Chess Basics I & II → solid openings, piece value, checkmate patterns
Tactics & Strategy → forks, pins, endgames, plans
Tournament Prep → notation, clocks, etiquette, resilience

3) Compete Monthly

Once a month, schools gather for competition day—rated or unrated flights, coach mini‑clinics, and seasonal awards. Families are welcome to cheer.
